The penthouse unit was experiencing water leaks for as long as the building was built. Attempts had been made to stop the water leaks that came through under the external unit walls adjoining the balcony, but these were most cheaper patch repair solutions to try and save the committee costs.
The full extent of remediation completed by BDSC, was removal of all existing balcony tiles, installation of a new hob around the perimeter of the unit, with new waterproofing and tiles installed thereafter. Thus, resolving the water ingress into the penthouse unit. Careful detailing was required during the works to ensure that the balcony balustrade height remained compliant therefore saving the committee money because the balustrade replacement was not required.
